preparing your space for an interiors shoot
A short, practical guide for designers and private clients preparing their space for a quiet, editorial day of photography.

An interiors shoot moves slowly. The day is shaped around natural light, and the most useful preparation is gentle rather than thorough.
Surfaces simplified. Textiles freshly laundered. A few personal objects left in place — they are usually what gives a room its life. Plants and flowers chosen carefully, in season, in scale.
It can be helpful to share a moodboard or a few reference images in advance, so the day is shared rather than directed. The best interiors photographs feel composed but not staged: the room as itself, on a particular afternoon, in a particular light.
